Which Basemap for High Compression B20 vtec?

Post by ninezeroteg »

I installed an RMF (replica) narrow header over the weekend, and feel like a re-tune is in order to get the max out of it. Since I'm going to re-tune, I figure I should start the tune from scratch and see what I can do. Which basemap should I start with? I used the P72 before, not sure if that was as close to what I need as I can get. Here's the setup: Fully Balanced B20B RS Machines 12.5:1 CR pistons (Type R replica) (actual compression is probably over 13:1 after block decking and head resurface x2) Stock B17 head w/ GSR cams Skunk2 Pro IM 330cc injectors @ stock fuel pressure RMF narrow replica full 2.5\" exhaust

On a side note, you might need bigger injectors for that setup. I had a 12:1 compression gs-r with 330cc injectors, and those suckers were maxed out. Looks like your setup might call for more fuel....

I've had it running with close to this setup for over 10k miles (the major change is the header), and haven't run out of injectors yet. I am thinking about changing them out for the RDX 410cc's or possibly the injector dynamics 725cc's to see if I can get some more consistent AFR's though. Any other recommendations for injectors for this setup welcome.
