Boost-Safe Output The progressive controller includes a Boost-Safe output (grounded when active) that activates whenever the system is armed and runs out of fluid or an error code is flashing. The green wire on the controller is the 1.7 amp switched ground. This wire can be hooked up to a solenoid that will vent waste gate pressure when activated. Apply 12v to the other side of the solenoid (AEM P/N 30-2400 or equivalent). This output can also be used to trigger a timing retard function in a stand alone ECU or a CDI whenever the system runs out of fluid, thus protecting your engine.

Help with GPO's and meth injection safety switch
Hi guys, its getting to that time of year again to take the car out. I am adding the aem methanol injection kit to my car and it has a signal wire when the meth runs low in the tank to send a ground signal sweitched from 5 v. I was hoping i could run that wire to my engine harness and have ectune handle it and switch to a secondary map when the switch is grounded (when my meth runs low). or to disable my EBC Is this possible with using the GPO? Can someone run me through how to do it. I figured i would set GPO input to say B8. But then it says \"switch to secondary maps on output\". i figured i want to switch to secondary manps on INPUT? HELP!! is this possible? ill paste the description of the output from the AEM controller for th meth kit
yes reason being: Meth runs out.i want less boost and different fuel and timing maps. There will be not enough fuel if the meth runs out and the car will go lean. Also too much timing without the meth= boom boom powcalvin wrote:so on gnd you want SEC maps? and EBC disable?

Just tie high-low boost to the same input as your secondary maps in the software... and the meth injection controls this input with it's ground (or add a switch as well to bypass for low all together)combz wrote:yes reason being: Meth runs out.i want less boost and different fuel and timing maps. The only thing i could think of is to run the signal wire for low level sensor to my Secondary maps switch. But it doesnt also trigger lower boost at the same time.....(unless maybe i spliced that signal into both the secondary maps pin, and the hi/low/ boost switch pin?) i dont know!!!

ok got it figured out. i wired the green wire from my AEM meth kit to the wire on B5 (Ac request) which is ground switched. The AEM kit sends a ground signal to the green wire when meth runs low..good match. go to Ectune parameters-->features-->Secondary Map Settings Hit the input switch button Select AC request B5 for input.(i did not have to invert, because i want it to run secondary maps when the meth runs out and primary when it is full) Okay..so now for the boost controller. Parameters-->boost control settings-->elkectronic boost controller settings EBC activation input i select AC request b5 The logic is this: When meth runs out sends signal to B5, sends me to secondary (pump gas) maps, at the same time is disables my boost solenoid (back to wastegate pressure). This way im still free to wire a high low boost switch. *note the boost solenoid stuff is currently not tested with an actual solenoid. And ectune is ignoring my hi lo switch on Power steering switch input (ground switched i have it). Dont know what the deal is. Tested signal at pin..and its switching ground...ectune just isnt showing the switch.

I flag sec maps and high boost with a single inverted B8 neg input.
