800 mbar BLIP anyone?

Post by xenocron »

The past two cars I have tuned since upgrading to the latest version (after the Ostrich debacle)...I have seen and felt a VERY strange misfire... Its right around 800 mbar and I can only notice when slightly accelerating or decelerating through the 800 mbar column. I could definitely reproduce it easily... I believe both cars were using GM 3 Bar Map Sensors... I set my ignition adjustments to turn off around 900-950 mbar and at first I thought it might be something with that, but it definitely happens before that point is reached.

I used the one labeled 48 in my list... In eCtune, it displays 46 though...

ok that means you saved it as a calibration. But when first uploaded to the ecu it's 48. On reopen it select the stable ectune baserom version. U can save it as binary that way if u reopen u will have 48 again.

I also noticed this, But it only did this on a car with a 2.5 bar sensor. It seems to be perfect with a stock map sensor. I thought I was just crazy! Good deal. So to fix I just need to start with 46? is that what your saying?

Here is the log and cal from the car. Its a short one that I had saved so it might not help. I will also call the customer back and see if he is willing to come back so I can test for you. Like I stated before It only does this at part throttle, Slight acceleration, and I cant see anything wrong in the datalog. Hope this helps, Let me know if you need anything else.

Not sure if this is the same problem, but recently I started having issues with missifires when shifting between gears.. I ended up having to take out large amounts of Tip-In enrichment to fix it. on 2 cars I had it at -60% to get it straight. others I had up to -40%.

What are you talking about? I only use Calibrations...only have, always. On reopen, what?

if u make a new bin with base 48 save it as binary. if u use calibration up on reopen ectune will select the stable 'cal' baserom which is not 48 in this case, it's 46

Please remove that feature...half the things that fuck me up with eCtune are ones that are going on without my knowledge. If eCtune is doing something without my knowledge...BADDD things are bound to happen. If eCtune is going to be doing AUTOmatic things, a pop-up window needs to pop in EACH of these instances warning me about what it is doing and asking me if I want it to do it or not...
