Importing bin

Post by Richie »

How would you import a bin already tuned, lets say by crome? From what I understand you'll need the tuner version to do that. If that's so, you would start with a fresh new base map in order to tune and also an ostrich is a must am I correct? Does that mean that the tuner version will costs more than an ostrich + standard version? Thanks in advanced. And excuse me if this is an authorized tuner only forum for the time, but Im really interested in the updates of the release.

I have had reasonable luck with copying/pasting the data from program to program. I believe an import tool will be made but I don't know what will be provided with each version. -Michael

not high on list. I still say retuning is better before somebody import a crome bin. that does strange things fuel. Use in eCtune blow their engine and blame eCtune

I think its way better NOT to make an import tool. Like Calvin said, The P72 code is way to different from the P30 code to just \"import and drive\" Things like VE are a big impact to the way the AF will be after importing. let them first learn to tune the eCtune way before they can drive away, not first trying to drive and then tune it.

I have to agree with this... Too many facotrs between the different .bin's being run... Granted; you can copy the maps by hand, etc.. but the way the programs use the maps is completely different. When I get weird bugs, I start a new .cal and copy over my battery offsets and try again.

I'm going to close this topic. The official word is no import tool will be created at this time.
