eCtune won't load. Encountered Error Popup

Post by MADMAX »

All of the sudden, eCtune will not load up. All of my other programs work except eCtune. Tried re-installing and nothing, does the same thing every time. Anyone have this problem. Running XP BTW.

eCtune doesn't suddenly not work anymore. eCtune doesn't use magic. You did something or windows update or what ever did something making eCtune not working. Do you get an other error before this?

Never had any other eCtune errors. I'll check the latest windows updates and see if any were installed yesterday. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem? I also tried re-installing .NET framework 3.5, but nothing.

When you said you reinstalled eCtune, did you uninstall it first or just reinstall on top of the old version?

It wouldn't allow that. Popup that said a previous version is already installed. So I uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs and then reinstalled like normal. Even tried a force update. Said updated to 2.1 r7 which was already installed.

Well, nothing has worked so far, and system restore was not enabled on this laptop, so SOL there.

I might add; try an uninstall of .net 3.5, then reboot, then install, reboot... try ectune again. I had a problem with .net after uninstalling and installing updates. Just throwin the bacon out on the grill ;)
