Noob help with start up calibration

Post by boostedeh2 »

I'm a total noob at this, so can someone please help me with a startup calibration for a d16z6 with 57trim and precision 880cc? Steps I should do? Fuel trim and injector settings? Thanks

you create a new basemap using the new basemap creator tool in ectune.....you enter all that information you just said and it will do everything for you.

I already did that but I want to know what fuel trims numbers I should use: cranking, post-start,tip in....etc...because when I just create a map without messing with these numbers the car would start or sometime wouldn't start then would shut off right after it starts... I would also like help with the injector multiplier as well as editing the quad cells traced..I'm not sure what those black dots are and which one of the 4 cells i should edit. Sorry I'm a total noob...I did a lot of reading before messing with this, thought it would be pretty straight forward but I'm having quite some problems to just get the car to idle at 14.7afr

there is no clear cut way of doing it. play with it and see what works and what doesnt. dont start edditing the main tables right away. start with injector offset FV and work your way up to coolant temp. when fully warmed up at around 180* mess around with injector offset FV some more[it should have leaned it self out some]. also take note of the IAT. cranking % is setup automatically through eCtune. play with it and see what makes the car start the easiest. post start up is kind of self explanatory. do both only in fuel trims, when you get most of it down you can move into adjusting them by coolant temps. also, make sure you select the right injectors in the injector calibration menu. there isnt one for 880cc so use the one for the pte 680cc.

Thanks! One more question: What are those black dots moving around during the cell trace/quad trace? I read it somewhere but I forgot, can someone please explain? And how would you use them?
