Open .cal file all settings are gone.

Post by Bugermass »

I opened a cal from like a week ago to retune a car with more boost and all the settings were gone. NOTHING was saved. which is weird cause I saved it after every change. So then today I had to make a whole new map for the same car which sucks cause I spent like 2-3 hours street tunning part throttle to make it perfect.. Once again I saved after each change and when I was done I closed eCtune and moved my laptop from the car to the table at the dyno to burn the chip.. Sure enough I opened the cal file and everything was gone, just looked like a basemap. No settings were saved, I had just spent 2 hours on the dyno and couldn't burn a chip. luckily I was able to pull the .bin of my romulator and burn that to the chip, but I'm kinda screwed if I want to make changes again cause the .cal is no good. What went wrong?

I saw the same thing happen to me over the weekend. It seems some of the base rom parameters are getting loaded and overwriting the set values in the cal or something...

I just loaded the .bin file that I pulled off the romulator and its all there, just seems to be the .cals that are getting corrupted.

Calvin: Try this... -Open a old bin (dont upgrade it to the latest version) -Note parameters such as rev limits, vtec xover, ect -Open the cal file that the bin was originally exported from -See the differences?

Maybe posting the corrupted .cal file would give calvin some insight as to whether the problem lies in saving or loading. -Michael
